Hillary's Earmarks Tops Among Pork Requests

As reported in The Hill newspaper, Clinton has requested nearly $2.3 billion - BILLION - in federal earmarks for 2009, almost three times the largest amount received by a single senator this year. According to The Hill, the total amount Clinton is seeking far exceeds the $837 million secured last year by Sen. Thad Cochran of Mississippi, the ranking Republican on the Appropriations Committee, who took home the largest dollar amount of earmarks in the current fiscal year’s spending bills.

With so much money being traded through these earmarks, it makes me (and I don't think I'm alone)a bit curious and nervouse about how much of taxpayers money has been abused by this method. Earmarks have recently been a hot topic with Presidential Nominee John McCain vowing to veto any bill that has them attached which sounds good to me. Get rid of them all together...if something is that important to require hundreds of millions of dollars, let it be a bill itself.

Congress Angry over Syrian Nuke Plant Info

Prominent members of Congress are angry that the Bush administration waited seven months before revealing crucial information about the Syrian facility that Israel destroyed in September.

It wasn’t until last week that administration officials briefed members of Congress and confirmed that the facility was a nuclear plant being constructed with participation from North Korea.

Instead of giving up the information to congress right away, the bush administration has put a set back to the knowledge of this facility. It's like pealing an onion they quoted " If we would have gotten this information seven months ago to the full Intelligence Committee, we could have spent the last seven months going through and peeling back the onion and having a lot more information than what we have at this point. "

Hillary 2012 instead of 2008?!

Dick Morris just wrote an article that was first posted on Newsmax about Hillary Clinton and the upcoming election. According to him Hillary knows that she can't win the 2008 election, but she continues on to lay her foundation for her run in 2012. Maybe she thinks that America will be fed up with whomever takes office after 4 years and that she will be the change they want. Honestly I'm not so sure about this.

Personally I despise Hillary and believe that nothing could be worse then having her as President, but my personal feelings aside: Could she actually have figured out a way to get the White House? No matter who is elected someone is always unhappy, but will the general population be so unhappy that they would welcome her? I guess time can only tell...

FINALLY a true celebrity example

One big thing in the news lately is Wesley Snipes going to jail for not filing his income tax returns. Unlike other celebrities who get off easily with a short stint in prison or a little slap on the wrist, Snipes was given the maximum time for his crime.

Mind you he did get off, by not serving longer when the judge brought the sentence down. Thank goodness someone finally is showing that just because you have celebrity standing and have had celebrity friends write letters on your behalf does NOT allow you to be above the law.

Hopefully this trend of just punishment for a crime commited continues.

Clinton Raises $10 Million After Pa. Win

"Hillary Rodham Clinton raised $10 million in the 24 hours after winning the Pennsylvania primary, aided by contributions from 80,000 new donors, her campaign said Thursday."

"The $10 million came from a total of 100,000 donors, spokesman Mo Elleithee said."

This is a big break for Hillary Clinton. Hillary has been continually "strapped" for cash throughout the Democratic primaries. She has fallen short to Obama’s spending by far.

Hillary seems to be desperate for money as she vigorously reaches out for financial relief from her supports. Clinton endlessly pled to supporters and listeners to go to her website and donate money. It must be working for her.

From my point of view, I’ve heard so many people talk about how “mathematically” Hillary can’t win the Democratic nomination and they almost have me convinced. Is Hillary fighting a lost battle???

Late Night Jokes

So I know that we usually talk about political hot stories that are on Newsmax.com, but I was reading the Late Night Jokes from last night and was laughing sooo hard that I wanted to share them with you. Make sure to read them everyday as we keep them updated! Read what David Letterman, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, Craig Ferguson, and Jimmy Kimmel are making us laugh with!

Here is an example from Jay Leno:

"After that long, drawn-out primary in Pennsylvania, our choices are still the same. You've got McCain, Obama, and Clinton. Or to use their pro-wrestling names: the Geezer, the Pleaser, or the Freezer. "

A Modern Day Arms Race?

It seems the world may be entering a Modern Day Arms Race."CIA officials scheduled a Thursday briefing with members of Congress to disclose that North Korea had been helping Syria build a plutonium-based nuclear reactor before the site was destroyed by an Israeli air raid last September."

This news comes one day before "The U.S. military [announces] it has found caches of newly made Iranian weapons in Iraq, leading senior officials to conclude Tehran is continuing to funnel armaments into Iraq despite its pledges to the contrary."
More from the Wall Street Journal

Experts are now saying that the 'catastrophic nuclear attack' is now ineveitable. So I guess the next question we should be asking ourselves is how to prepare for this potential attack on our nation?

Maher Calls Pope 'Nazi'

"Liberal talk show host Bill Maher, whose controversial comments about the Pope drew fire from the Catholic community, is planning to apologize Friday night for falsely accusing Pope Benedict XVI of being a Nazi, the Catholic League announced Thursday."

The Pope had been forced to join the German Youth Organization during WWII as a young man in Poland. He escaped as soon as he could. "Every responsible Jewish leader has acknowledged this reality and has never sought to brand the Pope a Nazi. That job falls to Maher."

So once again Maher puts his foot in his mouth...idiot.

Obama’s Real Problem

Obama has consistently done poorly with key constituencies of the Democratic Party: union members, Hispanics, wage earners making less than $50,000 a year, and older females. They don’t want Obama as their nominee and they stubbornly won’t fall in line.
In primary after primary these core groups have voted against Obama. Even in his home state, Hispanic voters backed him with a slim majority of 52 percent.
These groups vote against Obama despite the math that says he has the nomination.
They vote against him though he is outspending Hillary by 3 to 1 in states like Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
They vote against Obama even though the media talking heads seem to overwhelmingly favor him.

McCain Blasts Obama's Ties With Bomber

Senator Barrack Obama made a comparison to Tom Coburn's suggestion that applying the death penalty to abortionists was equivalent to Weather Underground terrorist bomber William Ayers' regretting that he had not performed more bombings protesting the Vietnam war evoked an angry response from McCain.
“He became friends with him and spent time with him while the guy was unrepentant over his activities as a member of a terrorist organization, the Weathermen,’’ McCain said, adding, “Does he condemn them? Would he condemn someone who says that they’re unrepentant and wished that they had bombed more?’’

It seems Obama's going to need a mighty big branch to hide these tracks. But what's more concerning to me is that this guy Ayers who apparently teaches at the Univeristy of Illinois at Chicago was openly involved in a Terrorist organization and is now teaching! He is employed in one of the most influential positions you can obtain! I hope I'm missing a part of this story because this is disturbing. Ayers actually held a Party for Obama in the early stages of his campaign even...why is there not more atttention on this guy and why is he being included with the social scene of our potential leaders?

Kurds Helping Christians

"The Kurdish regional government in Northern Iraq is providing a safe haven to several thousand Iraqi Christians who have fled persecution in other parts of the country, government officials and local pastors told Newsmax." "Christians in Iraq need special attention, because they’ve been suffering because they are Christians,” Deputy Prime Minister Omar Fattah told Newsmax in an exclusive interview in Erbil. “Maybe we give some instructions to others where they can go, but to Christians, never, because we are not afraid they will be terrorists."

I think this is an important situation that more Americans should be made aware of. Undeniably, despite current religious views, the American Framers developed the foundation of our country upon the same values that these people are being persecuted for upholding. There is a very real threat in the world to the way we as Americans live our lives. The rights and freedoms we believe are deserved for the simple reason of being humane and moral are being challenged in other parts of the world.

In Baghdad, "the terrorists told them that as Christians, they had no right to remain in a Muslim land without submitting to Muslim rule. To escape the jizya, some Christian refugees said they were told they must marry one of their daughters to a Muslim. Instead, when they could, they fled.

Risk of Nuclear Attack Rises

It seems that as technology improves, so does our ability to create and destroy!
The Risk of Nuclear Attack on our Country seems to be growing exponentially.

"I definitely conclude the threat is greater and is increasing every year with the march of technology," said Cham E. Dallas, director of the Institute for Health Management and Mass Destruction Defense at the University of Georgia."

Sen. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut, the panel’s chairman, said: "The scenarios we discuss today are so hard for us to contemplate and so emotionally traumatic that it is tempting to push them aside. However, now is the time to have this difficult conversation, to ask the tough questions, then to get answers."

Hamas Endorses Obama

This 2008 presidential election has been quite eventful since the beginning! There has never been a dull moment with all the questions we have on each candidate, seeing who has been strong enough to survive, those who are fighting against one another and of course trying to figure out who would actually be a good leader for our country.

Of course, at this point everyone knows of the big Obama vs. Clinton for the Democratic ticket. At moments one is stronger then the other, but overall it has been uncertain as to who was coming out on top. In my opinion tables are about to tilt in Clinton's favor as Ahmed Yousuf, Hamas's political advisor, just endorsed Obama. Obama who for months now has done everything in his power to convince the American population that he is indeed Christian will once again have to fight for that point to be understood.

Many Americans swear that Obama is Muslim and that his strong ties to his church are just a sham. Now with this endorsement it will fuel their fires. I wonder if this will be 'bomb' that sinks his ship...
