Hillary Baggage Too Much for Obama

“There is a growing effort by the Clintons — led by Bill — to convey a sense of entitlement for Hillary's newly minted vice presidential ambitions. The theory seems to say that she has earned the designation by her strong showing in primaries throughout the nation, particularly by her recent victories in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Indiana.”

However, according to Dick Morris, “ever since Aaron Burr rose from a vice presidential candidacy to contest Thomas Jefferson”

There are no more rewards for second place. No silver medals in the presidential race.”

Morris believes, In any case, it is a far fetched hope that Hillary's presence on the ticket would help Obama in any way.

“Hillary Clinton will not help Obama win a single vote.”

Calif. Rejects Gay Marriage

A Los Angeles Times/KTLA Poll has found that, by a bare majority, Californians reject the state Supreme Court's decision to allow same-sex marriages.

The survey also suggested that a majority of those polled would back a proposed constitutional amendment aimed at the November ballot that would outlaw such unions.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has vetoed two bills sanctioning gay marriage, has said that he respects the court's decision and that he will not support a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. Californians were split on his stance, with 45% agreeing and 46% disagreeing.

McCain's Blogging World

Republican John McCain’s campaign has begun holding regular conference calls with leftwing bloggers and blogs that focus on single issues such as healthcare and the environment. These calls are in addition to the weekly calls McCain holds with conservative bloggers to keep them informed about his positions.

Tracy Russo, who was John Edwards’ blog outreach coordinator, called McCain’s new strategy to court leftwing bloggers “good thinking on the part of McCain’s campaign.”

Michael Moore’s 'Blame America' Film

Michael Moore recently toyed with the assembled press at the Cannes Film Festival about his next movie, tentatively titled “While America Slept.” “I can’t obviously tell you what I’m really up to, because I want to be able to finish,” Moore said. But obviously a whistle blower such as this can't keep a secret for too long and in the same breath, he spilled the beans. "Moore revealed that his next film will examine the U.S.’s actions and reputation around the world. He went on to say, “I am going to take a look at the empire we’ve created and ask the question, ‘How did we get here?’" adding, “Are we at the points where the Romans were?" - And I think we can all decifer what his answer to that will be!

Hillary Digs for Dirt on Obama

With Barack Obama having the Democratic presidential nomination all but wrapped up, Hillary Clinton backers are hoping that a devastating revelation about Obama could derail his candidacy — and they’re desperately seeking to find it.

“The Clinton campaign’s search for damaging information and its hope that such information exists continues, according to knowledgeable sources.”

Chelsea Clinton Protected by Secret Service, Again

Chelsea Clinton is now receiving her own Secret Service protection detail as she campaigns for her mother. The heightened security is not the result of any specific threat, but rather because of her increased profile on the campaign. It is also reported that the Clintons requested the security coverage, in part, as a result of increased press coverage of Chelsea's appearances at campaign events.

Bush Worried Dem Victory Could Lead to Terror Attack

'President Bush said Tuesday he was disappointed in "flawed intelligence" before the Iraq war and was concerned that if a Democrat wins the presidency in November and withdrew troops prematurely it could "eventually lead to another attack on the United States." '

I must agree here, however, I don't believe another 100 years in Iraq is the right answer. It will be very interesting to see what is to come for the United States and for our influence in the Middle East.

If one day we do extract our troops we better be defensively ready.

Schwarzenegger Tries to Halt ‘Ugly Betty’ Move to N.Y.

Arnold Schwarzenegger recently told reporters that California must increase tax incentives for movie and television studios in order to keep productions within the state. Schwarzenegger's comments stem from recent news that ABC’s hit television show “Ugly Betty” will move production from Los Angeles to New York, which prompted Schwarzenegger to spring into action on the tax policy issue.

Bush: 'I'm an Emotional Wreck'

Toasting his daughter Jenna Bush and Henry Hager after their wedding at his Crawford ranch Saturday night, President Bush began by confessing, “I am an emotional wreck.” The ceremony took place before a white limestone altar and cross that had been erected beside the ranch’s lake. Jenna wore a white silk organza embroidered gown by Oscar de la Renta. Her maid of honor and twin Barbara wore a gown of moonstone blue silk. The groom’s brother, John Vigil “Jack” Hager, stood as best man. The location of the event — first reported along with the month of the wedding by Newsmax last August — fits Jenna’s personality. While Jenna’s sister Barbara Bush went to Yale, Jenna chose the University of Texas. “The wedding was sweet and joyful,” a guest said.

Obama’s Got His Groove Back

His knuckles scraped and his body bruised, Obama kept fighting, and he emerged Wednesday morning with every reason to believe his nomination battle was ending and his general election fight for the White House was beginning. In his victory speech Tuesday night, he even took a swipe at Republican rival John McCain. And, at times in that speech, he even sounded a bit like the Obama of old — more hopeful and more optimistic.

Finally, Obama’s got his groove back.

Not that all his problems will go away now that he has the nomination all but locked up. The controversies that dogged him in the primaries will still haunt him in the general election. But now that he has weathered them once, it makes him more able to handle them again.

Someone once said that the best training a U.S. president can get for the job is running a campaign to get the job. With his short resume in Washington, this is particularly true in Obama’s case.

Al-Queda U.S. Recruiting Through Internet

Using a video montage showing mass executions, bomb-making, and a promise to "slit the throats of Americans and Jews," two U.S. lawmakers unveiled a report that says homegrown violent Islamic extremism poses an increasing threat to the safety of the American people

Hillary VP Talk Gains Momentum

With Hillary Clinton’s standings in the democratic primaries not looking so hot, it might be time for her to consider Vice President.

There has been extensive chatter by several top sources about Hillary running as VP on Obama’s ticket.

On “Good Morning America”, chief Washington correspondent, George Stephanopoulos stated, “I think it’s very much a possibility and there are others around Senator Clinton, other top Democrats, who think the strongest ticket would be a joint ticket.

“There are intermediaries discussing this very scenario.”

However, Newsmax poses the real question: “Would Obama want Clinton on the ticket?”

Senator Obama is probably reluctant to do this, given the feelings coming out of this campaign right now,” Stephanopoulos said.

On the other side of the coin, Clinton might focus on the 2012 presidency. Many believe she will try to dethrone Obama in anyway she can. Her odds at beating McCain in the 2012 elections are extremely higher then her odds at beating a second term Obama.

James Pethokoukis of U.S. News & World Report agrees, writing in his “Capital Commerce” column that he believes Clinton “would rather make history — and maybe set herself up for 2012 if the ticket loses — than putter around the Senate.”

Hillary Has No Shot at the Nomination

Hillary lost horribly in North Carolina and barely won in Indiana. Pundit, Dick Morris states, “Hillary Clinton just doesn't have enough straws left to clutch. The best (or worst) she can hope to do the rest of the way is bloody Barack Obama enough to make him lose in the fall, allowing her to come back in 2012.”

"Do the math. Last night's results leave him with a lead among elected delegates of 150 or so, and among all delegates of around 130."

I have no idea what is going on in Hillary’s head but would she be as selfish and self-centered as to purposely ruin Obama in hopes for a chance as president in 2012??? I don’t trust her!

According to Dick Morris, "Clinton may well fight all the way; she's stubborn and dedicated. Moreover, she's farsighted and devious: She could hope to so bloody Obama that he can't beat John McCain. If McCain wins, she could get the Democratic nomination in 2012 and, with McCain closing in on 76 and after 12 years of GOP rule, win."

'Islamic' 9/11 Memorial Angers Some

Most of the relatives of the victims who died when United Flight 93 crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pa., on Sept. 11, 2001 approved the plans for the memorial of these victims of having a Islamic crescent design and it has a wind-chime tower which mimics an Islamic minaret. Furthermore, it would point east toward the Islamic holy city of Mecca.

Though there are other victims relatives who disagree. Like Tom Burnett Sr., the father of a Flight 93 victim, who's angered by the alleged symbolism.

“It’s really revolting to me, this whole thing,” Burnett told the Times, “It’s an insult to my son and all the others.”

Five of those objecting told members of the Flight 93 Memorial Task Force and the Flight 93 Advisory Committee that the design should be scrapped because its apparent Islamic symbolism. Among them, the Times wrote, was Harry Beam, a retired Army lieutenant colonel who presented petitions with 5,300 signatures opposing the design to members of the Flight 93 boards.

Israel Has New Intel on Iran Nukes

The roomers have seemed to be flying for the longest!!!

Israeli intelligence has achieved a breakthrough regarding Iran’s nuclear program, London’s Sunday Times reported.”

Will this claim turn up some hard evidence or will it dissolve like the rest of the roomers??? Considering all the controversy and open questions revolving around this matter, I’m extremely curious to find out what is uncovered or revealed as this is further investigated.

“There has been concern in Israel that Iran’s nuclear program is far more advanced than indicated by a declassified assessment by the U.S. National Intelligence Estimate last December, which reported that Iran had halted its nuclear weapons development program in late 2003.”

“It is thought that if Israel were considering military action against Iran over its nuclear program, it would want to ensure it had diplomatic support in London and Washington because of the danger of triggering a wider Middle East conflict.”

Bill's up to his old tricks

Top radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh has responded to Hillary Clinton’s quip that he’s always had a crush on her, saying that her husband Bill once “hit on” Rush’s date.

Seems that the possible 'First Husband' hasn't changed his ways at all.

Democrats destroyed by Iraq Issues?!?!

Dick Morris's newest comments on the 2008 presidential election deal with the democrats and the possible subject that could sink their ship - the Iraq war.

Bill O'Reilly asked Hillary Clinton the key question about the war in Iraq: What happens if we pull out and the Iranians move in?

She talked around the issue, but never gave a convincing answer to O'Reilly's question. Hillary's inability to answer O'Reilly's question reveals a larger flaw in the Democratic arguments as the election approaches. Obama will be the Democratic nominee (take that to the bank). How will the Iraq war play in the race?

Tom Hanks Compares Obama to Reagan

Lampooning the perception of celebs’ political picks, Tom Hanks satirically says, “As an official celebrity, I know my endorsement has just made your mind up for you. [Obama] has the integrity and the inspiration to unify us as did FDR and Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy and even Ronald Reagan when they ran for the job,” Hanks says.

Great Gatsby of Iraqi Kurdistan

Who is this larger-than-life hero who is reputed to be one of the richest men in Iraq? No one knows anything about the sources of his wealth, his early career, or his family origin, but we do have a name: Sarkis Aghajan, Iraqi Kurdistan’s mysterious Minister of Finance

He is the man who has been quietly disbursed tens of millions of dollars of his own money to help Iraq’s embattled Christian population. Angel on earth!

Al Qaeda, Cohorts Remain Worst Terror Threat: U.S.

After the September 11 attacks, al Qaeda remains the biggest terrorist threat to the United States and its allies.

Al Qaeda "utilizes terrorism, as well as subversion, propaganda, and open warfare; it seeks weapons of mass destruction in order to inflict the maximum possible damage on anyone who stands in its way, including other Muslims and/or elders, women and children," said the report.
